Why Vegan

The Power of Plants

In the hands of every human being, lies the power to vote for the kind of earth we yearn to live in. We vote through the choices that we make everyday. Just as our votes have the power to overthrow a government, our daily choices have the power to change societies, cultures, ecosystems and our health. Each time you choose to eat a plant based meal you vote for a healthy you, a cleaner/greener planet, a just economy, and compassion toward all earthlings. In this sense, the food you eat is the most powerful vote you will ever cast.

A plant based diet has proven to prevent several chronic health issues that we face today (type 2 diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer's and many more). Across the world, governments, private institutions and the United Nations are increasing their support for this lifestyle. Athletes, artists and intellectuals are shifting to a plant based diet for their health, for the planet and for the animals. The time has come for us to join them in building a better today for us and a better tomorrow for our children. With this daily food service, I hope to share with you a whole new world of flavours across various cuisines powered by the magic of plants.

“To protest about bullfighting in Spain, the eating of dogs in South Korea, or the slaughter of baby seals in Canada while continuing to eat eggs from hens who have spent their lives crammed into cages, or veal from calves who have been deprived of their mothers, their proper diet, and the freedom to lie down with their legs extended, is like denouncing apartheid in South Africa while asking your neighbors not to sell their houses to blacks.”

-Peter Singer

“It is easy for us to criticize the prejudices of our grandfathers, from which our fathers freed themselves. It is more difficult to search for prejudices among the beliefs and values that we hold.”
